When you wish to talk to or meet someone, please do it now

Here are notes, ideas, thoughts, and reflections.

When you wish to talk to or meet someone, please do it now; you may not have a chance to do it later. Sometimes there is no later.

I learned this very hard in the last three years. I will someday write more details on this. For now, just call or get your ass off, go and meet someone you wanted to meet, or talk.

Most of us are where we are because of decisions we made years ago. But are those reasons still current for what we need now? Ask again.

"Why am I here?"

---------

What we do with our time — what's worthy and what's a waste.

Time really is limited. We can't pretend it's not. Time spent doing one thing is time spent not doing something else. It's so easy to waste time doing stuff that's not important, not really fun, and not useful to anyone, not even yourself.

---------

If you're starting a project or company, here what you should do:

  1. Don't expect anyone to care as much as you.
  2. Don't require them to think as hard about this as you have.
  3. Do expect them to change their mind and disappear.
  4. Make a robust plan that includes 3 options for everything.

As the founder, the burden is on you to come up with a great plan, to lift the burden from the people helping you.

Then, when you find some brilliant people, it's a great bonus, instead of an absolute necessity.

---------

You will get more self-confident once you have achieved, at least once in your life, what you initially thought you couldn't do.

---------

If your business depends on you, you don't own a business - you have a job (self-employed). The purpose of going into business is to get free of a job so you can create jobs for other people.

---------

  • How can I get my business to work without me?
  • How can I get my people to work without my interference?
  • How can I systematize my business so it could be replicated thousands of times?
  • How can I own my business and still be free of it?
  • How can I spend my time doing the work I love to do rather than the work I have to do?

---------

Strength comes from within, and everyone has a different way of building that inner strength.

---------

Nobody cares what you're bad at, and neither should you. Care about your strengths only that counts, and everyone cares about that, and you should also.

---------

People who can not express themself in the mother tongue will struggle to express themself in other languages. Practice writing in your first language that will help you express well, and every time you use it, you will help language to enrich.

---------

People who struggle to express themselves still possess great wisdom. They deserve your patience ears; this will benefit you more.

---------

Followers and likes on social networks are not the validation of your work. There are many people even today who are not on any social media, but their work impact lives beyond boundaries and beyond the collective users of all social media.

Use your social media to amplify their work; that may be a better use of it.

---------

When our imperfect judgments are aggregated in the right way, our collective intelligence is often excellent.

---------

Groups that are too much alike find it harder to keep learning because each member brings less and less to the table. They spend too much time exploiting and not enough time exploring.

This is the same for countries with less diversity.

---------

The quest for recognition ensures a steady infusion of diverse thought, since no one becomes famous for restating what's already known.

---------

It's fun for techies to try to find the tech solution to everything, but don't forget that even a tiny human touch can be the best algorithm and a massive business maximizer.

---------

The people you surround yourself with don't just open doors. They change the way you think and change the self-image of your capabilities! Now go and decided whom you want to surround yourself with.
