Slowing down is a potent method to excel.
Last week, my body was telling me that I needed rest. I ignored it, and yesterday, I suffered all day with lower back pain from running. This morning, I woke up with a slightly better feeling after some stretching, icing, and a good night's rest. But still, I know I need to slow down.
I went for my slowest and shortest Sunday run in a while. I'm feeling better and recovering, and I will continue to prepare for the TCS 10K in Bangalore on April 27th.
Sometimes, slowing down is the smartest move in business too.
Businesses love to compete. To beat each other at their games, win one market, then the other, and yet another. Some even aim for a monopoly, like Apple, Google, and Amazon.
You don't need to be number one in the market or kill the competition. There are other ways to do business, such as focusing on calm and steady growth. It's better to prioritise profits overvaluation and put customers first before investors. There are many ways of doing business, and I call my approach "Calm Business."
